What does design mean to you?
When creating our first home, I realized no one could satisfy my own requirements, so I immediately started my own studio to design my home as my first project. That continues to this day. Grandes brand philosophy is creating refined, minimalist design aesthetics. We hope to create timeless, clean, powerful works with exquisite sophistication. My motto is completing every project with a “form of empathy”, making every decision from the clients perspective first.
What was your proudest project in 2025?
One project that made us proud was a house exceeding 5,000 square feet. It took nearly two years, involving resubmitting plans, installing an elevator, and numerous complex processes. The clients had lived there for over 20 years, making it challenging not just in construction complexity but also in reimagining a living space theyd known intimately for so long.
What habits keep your creativity alive?
Definitely frequent travel. Seeing Gaudís architecture in Spain with my own eyes, experiencing Bauhaus style locally in Switzerland, or Balis natural environment—drawing material inspiration from nature sparks tremendous creative inspiration.
What do you do in your free time?
We enjoy sailing together, one captains, the other crews. Though the process is quite demanding, experiencing freedom while appreciating Hong Kong from this perspective is a wonderful experience.
