Instinct drives every standout space.
For Chat Fores, Principal Interior Designer of Chat Fores Design Studio, creating interiors that speak is a deeply intuitive process. The moment she steps into a room, she immediately feels and understands how to transform it for her clients. By trusting this initial spark, she ensures that her innate love for interior design always translates into an unwavering passion for the projects she takes on.

Could you tell our readers about your firm and its overall design approach?
We always design the interiors to be a good fit for the client—we don’t impose. We oblige the client’s wishes and put in our own personal touches. Given a space, scale and proportion are the most important elements we consider. Design details should always make an impact; we might even use large-scale pieces to enhance a small space. From there, colour acts as a dominant feature, whether the interiors are muted or designed to wow. We also give importance to furniture, decor, and art as the elements that bring the space together. We like to play with multiple period styles—mixing the old with the new.

What is the most magical moment in the process of bringing a design to life?
Seeing my drawings come to life at the jobsite, even at the early stages, is the most satisfying feeling I get. It makes me realize that I did choose the best career!
Which types of projects do you find most engaging in your work?
I love projects that challenge. I welcome new and ingenious requests—it gives me fulfillment to take on projects that push me to think of numerous solutions. When doing commercial projects, I sometimes even think about marketing styles to further enhance customer experience. For residential projects, I focus more on comfort and practical solutions for the client, allowing for new experiences.

How do you adapt to evolving client lifestyles?
My aim in design is to adapt to new lifestyles and experiences; it is part of our DNA as a design firm. We adapt, adjust, collaborate, and deliver.
What’s next in the pipeline?
Close to my heart is having my own home lifestyle brand—furniture, decor, and art.
