Rosewood Hong Kong Retains World’s Best Hotel Title as City Secures Three Places in The 50 Best Hotels 2026.

Hong Kong’s hospitality scene has once again taken centre stage on the global stage. In The 50 Best Hotels 2026, revealed yesterday at an awards ceremony in Paris, three Hong Kong addresses were named among the world’s top 50, including Rosewood Hong Kong at No. 1, The Upper House at No. 8 and The Peninsula Hong Kong at No. 46.

For Rosewood Hong Kong, the result marks a remarkable second consecutive year at the summit. After entering the ranking at No. 3 in 2024, the Victoria Dockside hotel rose to first place in 2025 and has now retained its title as The World’s Best Hotel 2026. The achievement places Hong Kong ahead of destinations including Bangkok, Dubai, Lake Como and Beijing in a list spanning 22 territories across six continents.

The Upper House also strengthened its international standing, moving from No. 10 in 2025 to No. 8 this year. The Admiralty hotel’s pared-back, residential approach—defined by André Fu’s quietly elegant interiors, generously proportioned rooms and harbour-facing views—continues to offer a distinctly Hong Kong interpretation of luxury: personal, composed and designed around a sense of calm amid the city’s energy.

Meanwhile, The Peninsula Hong Kong enters the main top-50 list at No. 46, having placed No. 54 in the extended 2025 ranking. Its return underlines the enduring pull of the city’s heritage hotels, where long-established rituals of hospitality coexist with a changing luxury landscape. Together, the three recognitions capture the breadth of Hong Kong’s hotel offering—from Rosewood’s contemporary waterfront glamour and The Upper House’s refined urban retreat to The Peninsula’s enduring grandeur.

The result arrives as a welcome vote of confidence in Hong Kong not simply as a transit point or business destination, but as a city where hotel design, dining, wellness and service form part of the cultural experience. Beyond the top 50, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong was also recognised at No. 86 in the extended 51–100 list, adding a fourth local name to this year’s wider ranking.

The 50 Best Hotels is an annual global ranking shaped by the votes of more than 800 anonymous travel and hospitality experts, including hoteliers, travel journalists and seasoned luxury travellers. Split across 13 regions, the Academy evaluates hotels based on stays made within the previous three years, with each voter selecting seven properties in order of preference.
