In Hong Kong’s fast-moving business environment, office design and fit-out are no longer simply about presenting a polished corporate image. A well-considered workplace is a strategic investment—one that can support productivity, reflect a company’s culture and help attract and retain talented people.
The era of drab, tightly partitioned offices has largely passed. Today’s more progressive workplaces make room for flexible layouts, biophilic touches and hybrid ways of working, while accommodating the practical needs of teams throughout the day. Here, we highlight five Hong Kong design firms helping businesses create workplaces that are efficient, adaptable and genuinely pleasant to spend time in.
1. In-between Architects
Founded by Ivan Wong, In-between Architects places particular emphasis on creating spaces that support individual needs while encouraging collaboration. Through open-plan layouts that seamlessly connect different zones, the studio creates workplaces where people can communicate, collaborate and solve problems more effectively.
This philosophy informs every aspect of the firm’s design for a private investment office. Drawing inspiration from natural landscapes and art galleries, the team conceived a calm, welcoming entrance that encourages visitors to slow down as they arrive. A lounge overlooking expansive greenery offers employees a place to pause, reset and gather their thoughts before returning to work.
Artworks provide a visual connection between different areas of the office, helping to establish a considered balance between interaction, concentration and rest. Rather than serving as decoration alone, the art responds to the changing moods, mindsets and sources of inspiration that shape the working day.

With panoramic views of lush greenery, the lounge gently blurs the boundary between indoors and out. The executive offices, meanwhile, feature an art-led design language that uses curated works to nurture creativity and a sense of community. Together, these elements transform the workplace into a calming retreat where ideas can take shape.

2. Starz Pasha
Led by founders Maggie Mo and Jay Leung, Hong Kong interior design firm Starz Pasha brings an intuitive understanding of the subtle interplay between light, materials and space. The studio provides highly customised, end-to-end design services tailored to the needs of each client.
For GUM’s 1,480-square-foot office, the design team took “growth” as its central theme, weaving motifs of coins and trees into details ranging from the company logo and ceiling lights to cabinet handles.

An indoor tree in the reception area symbolises both the company’s firmly rooted history and its ambitions for future growth. The office also features height-adjustable desks, exercise bikes and a water-filtration system. By incorporating these wellness-oriented features into the wider spatial experience, the design promotes employee wellbeing and creates an energising workplace atmosphere.

3. Haven Design
Under the direction of creative director Mary Wong, Haven Design gives each commercial interior a distinctive yet professional character. Guided by a client-centric approach, the studio works primarily with contemporary and modern aesthetics, carefully aligning every design detail with the culture and identity of the business.

Its 4,500-square-foot office project in Kowloon Bay prioritises openness and practical functionality, moving beyond conventional ideas of what a workplace should be. Crisp architectural lines, bright and calming tones, and a carefully considered material palette come together to create an environment that feels both productive and relaxed.
Balancing modern aesthetics with day-to-day functionality, the office serves as a professional hub designed to stimulate creativity and support the team’s evolving needs.

4. Grande Interior Design
Led by Maggy Cheung and Matthew Li, Hong Kong firm Grande Interior Design creates bespoke solutions that inspire teams and empower businesses. The studio uses advanced 3D visualisation technology to give clients an intuitive preview of each proposal before work begins. It also places strong emphasis on sustainable materials and spatial efficiency, resulting in modern office environments designed to stand the test of time.

For an 8,000-square-foot office in Tsuen Wan, the team adopted an open, minimalist layout to enhance the sense of space, seamlessly combining natural elements with refined contemporary design. Distinctive arched ceiling features and sculptural pendant lights subtly define different functional zones without the need for solid partitions.
Flowing curves and carefully positioned greenery soften the interior, transforming a conventional office into an open, light-filled and nature-inspired workplace.
