Designed for a family of five, the scheme balances the efficiency of Hong Kong urban living with the warmth and ease of Classic Americana, resulting in a “Modern American” home that feels ordered yet relaxed.
Rather than rely on heavy ornament, the team distils American classicism into clean mouldings, subtle checkered details and clear geometry. A calm palette of sage green and crisp white, paired with natural white marble and brass accents, creates a material language that is both durable for daily life and quietly refined up close.
The living room acts as the emotional centre of the home. A white coffered ceiling sets an elegant tone, while a custom fireplace becomes the visual and sentimental anchor, echoing the owner’s fondness for Western houses. The furniture is arranged in a loose, inward‑facing layout that favours conversation over screen time, and a cluster of five pendant lights symbolises the five family members. Glass and mirrored surfaces are used not as decoration but as tools to draw sea views and daylight deeper into the interior, amplifying the sense of openness.
In the dining area, a full-height run of sage green built-in cabinetry features a flexible open-and-close system. Open, it reveals marble-lined shelving that reads like a domestic gallery; closed, it becomes a calm, ordered backdrop. The master suite is oriented to frame the sea from waking to rest, supported by a walk-in wardrobe with mirrored doors and a light-toned marble ensuite. The two sons share a symmetrical, blue-accented room that supports both togetherness and individual study, while the daughter’s room adopts a gallery-like white-and-wood palette with its own ensuite to showcase her art and reinforce privacy.
