Capella at Galaxy Macau has opened as the resorts most exclusive hotel offering, with 95 suites and penthouses designed by Paris-based studio Moinard Bétaille.
Opened on 11 February, Capella at Galaxy Macau adds a 95-room hotel to the existing Galaxy Macau integrated resort. The property occupies a separate position within the resorts portfolio of luxury hotels.
The accommodations range from one-bedroom suites starting at 128 square meters to four-bedroom penthouses spanning nearly 700 square meters. Penthouses include private infinity pools, winter gardens, wellness rooms with TechnoGym equipment, and soundproofed media rooms. One and two-bedroom suites feature indoor relaxation pools and Amazonite marble bathrooms.
Paris-based design studio Moinard Bétaille developed the interiors around what they describe as a “Gilded Jungle” concept, incorporating tropcal-inspired elements and curved architectural forms. The lobby features a three-meter LED installation by Hong Kong artist Laura Cheung that changes throughout the day. Hand-finished wall coverings by LaLa Curio appear in guest rooms, extending from walls to ceilings. A glass sculpture by Czech manufacturer Lasvit sits above illuminated water pools in the entrance area.
The service model includes 24-hour butler service and “Capella Culturists,” staff members who arrange experiences such as art tours, baijiu tastings, and private excursions. Standard room amenities include complimentary minibars, Chinese tea sets, Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica Santa Maria Novella bath products, and Bugatti kettles with Illy coffee machines.
Two food and beverage outlets opened with the property. Botanica, a 48-seat restaurant led by Executive Chef Stephen Hsu, serves international dishes with Asian influences. Pony & Plume is a whisky and cocktail bar with over 650 whisky selections. Michelin-starred chef Vicky Cheng will open a fine-dining restaurant at the property later in 2026.
Galaxy Macau currently operates eight hotels including Banyan Tree Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, and The Ritz-Carlton, Macau. The resort covers 1.1 million square meters and offers close to 5,000 rooms across its properties.
