Storage
The industry’s enthusiasm for super-glossy cabinets over the last few years has finally lost its sheen. Instead, we’re seeing beautiful, matte finishes in blonde wood and elegant shades of greige (grey-beige) that express modernity in a calm, relaxed fashion.
If space permits, consider a series of shelves housed behind nice looking floor-to-ceiling doors, combined with surrounding, open shelving and slim, horizontal cabinets. This provides a multitude of storage possibilities, allowing you to hide some items while keeping others on show. It also breaks up the monotony of a solid wall of cabinets. Besides, deep drawers are a great storage solution, and can free up wall space.
Small Spaces
A light colour palette will bring an airy feel to a small kitchen, especially if your space doesn’t receive much natural light. Keep the number of materials you choose to just three or four: too many will make a small space feel busy and it will appear even smaller. Maximise lighting with dimmable, central lightings and under-cabinet lights that shine down on work areas.
