Award-winning Hong Kong-based boutique design studio FAK3 excels at reinventing the essence of luxury aesthetics, as showcased in this stately Parkview apartment.
Upon entering the 2,500sqft space that Polly Wong and her husband, Tony Lo, call home, you’re instantly transported to a solemn sanctuary. The capacious dwelling is gracefully furnished in fine marble, which lends an air of elegance and class through FAK3’s exceptional execution and top-notch craftsmanship.
We always prioritise comfort and practicality when it comes to our home,” says Polly. After all, it is the ultimate place for us to unwind, as well as to entertain friends and family. What genuinely matters is what we do daily in each area and the main purpose it serves, which also explains why you don’t see extravagant elements or ultra-hi-tech equipment here, as that doesn’t really reflect our way of living.”

Having spent considerable time with the couple to fully comprehend their wants and needs, the founder and creative director of FAK3, Johnny Wong, stuck rigorously to the brief throughout the creative process. The resulting design scheme truly reflects the clients’ personalities and desires,” explains Johnny. If you look closely enough, you will notice our inventive touches delicately adorning the place.”
Like other projects it has handled, FAK3 endeavoured to infuse its take on modern-classic aesthetics while harmoniously aligning with its clients’ preferences to formulate a distinctive design language that can stand the test of time. Such a design philosophy is evident in this particular project.

Natural materials – stone, wood, marble and leather – have been carefully curated and woven into an understated, opulent aesthetic that befits the sophisticated couple. Behind the dining table and sofa seating area is a grey onyx wave marble feature wall that pops with elegant grains and patterns.
Massive care and effort has been put into its execution to ensure a fluid visual appearance that flows from the fixed wall to two sealed doors that open to a TV and music room, as well as a spacious master bedroom and an en-suite bathroom.

The latter, in particular, is a notable study in luxury, generously outfitted in black striated marble with white jade onyx highlights. Johnny intended to create an alluring area designated for a holistic relaxation and pampering experience. To achieve this, he cleverly separated the space into a grooming area, an individual toilet and a sumptuous bathtub encased in a marble platform, combined with a rain shower system.

To set an unobstructed foundation from which the couple’s cherished collections of objects can grow, concealed cabinets have been installed, which also make an orderly living environment possible.
Adding to the palatial ambience are a number of impressive artworks, all sourced by the couple – Mark Kalan’s Escapade au Luberon adorns the dining area, and Hirota Minoru’s Dance Lesson sets a captivating mood by the doorway to the master bedroom.
The homeowners are undoubtedly pleased to see their vision come to life, as Polly expresses: Johnny and his team have showcased excellent professionalism with such a delicately curated scheme. I can’t even name which area I love most – it’s wonderful as a whole.” We can’t agree more.
