Award-winning Spanish design studio El Equipo Creativo recently unveiled its newest creation, El Mama – La Papa restaurant and cocktail bar in Barcelona. No stranger to playing with patterns and unique materials, El Equipo Creativo’s design is a celebration of colour and contrast. Located in an old canning warehouse, the establishment has been infused with striking character thanks to bright hues, polished woods, industrial metallics and Mediterranean-style mosaics.

The bar is a twisting, turning maze of dualities. Enjoy a drink at white, wooded daytime bar El Mama before moving to dark and industrial La Papa, opposite, come nightfall. Book one of the more private spaces for an event, or sequester yourself in one of the more hidden, speakeasy-style corners. The drinking and dancing continues upstairs along catwalks facilitated by the space’s impressive, double-height ceilings.
