Here’s a date to pen into your calendar: Tom Dixon opened his first flagship store in Southeast Asia last week. The location? Right here in Hong Kong.
The store – which will be opening at 52 Hollywood Road in the creative heart of the city, Soho – will offer an eclectic mix of lighting, furniture and home accessories, including Tom Dixon’s first ever textile range Super-Texture. The collection consists of cushions and throws in six different textures including velvet, boucle and knit. The muted colour palette of soft greys and mustard yellow makes mixing and matching a breeze. The textiles are a soft accompaniment to the futuristic and reflective Cut pendant lights – which were debuted at this year’s Milan Design Week – as well as new surface light additions to the brand’s iconic Melt collection.

But you can’t look forward without considering the past. The store will also present the Veteran collection consisting of remastered furnishings that hark back to Tom Dixon’s origins as an anti-fashion” designer whose pieces are built to outlast trends. The famous S chair has been remodelled in hard and soft foam with a pure wool cover for ergonomic support, while the striking Pylon chair returns, this time in a royal blue as eye-catching as its unconventional design.
