In Achrafieh, one of Beirut’s oldest districts, a recently completed bachelor’s pad features all the glitz and glam of modern living.

Located in a new building, the penthouse fits right at home in the area, east of the city amongst restaurants, bars, galleries, and a thriving shopping district.

Inside, the three-storey home also features works by artists and designers around the world.

Designed by Lebanese studio Askdeco, the dwelling is airy and light-filled, overlooking the historic district. Metallic fixtures, against a palette of marble and muted grey wood, pepper the home, lending it a sophisticated, masculine feel.

Entering the 2,150sqft space, one arrives at the reception area and kitchen, which lead to the terrace. Massive windows, which required more architectural alterations, frame incredible views of the city below.

In the living room, a large-scale artwork made of leaves and threads by Venezuelan artist Ramon Aular punctuate space. The aluminium coffee table is by Lebanese artist and sculptor Anachar Basbous, flanked by sofas by Antonio Citterio. A cactus Murano glass vase grace the side table.

Another focal point in the room is the display case nearby, custom-designed by Askdeco, featuring a selection of the homeowner’s personal effects.

Next to the display case, a sculptural winding staircase – made of powder coated metal, gun metal frame, and marble – connects all three levels of the home.

“Clients always have something in mind, and our job is to work with them step-by-step to tie it all together,” says Nisrine Nasr, co-founder and interior designer at Askdeco.

“If something they envision detracts from a space or decreases its volume, we try our best to change their minds with innovative alternatives.”

Spacious, luxurious and glamorous, the apartment is Askdeco’s job well done, no doubt.
