Known for its top-quality designs, Italian brand Alessi has released its new 2016 collection that, once again, reflects the brand’s expertise: combining practicality with creativity.

The Ellipse collection was born out of a collaboration with Australian designer Abi Alice. Combining Alessi’s brief to create a range focusing on cut and folded sheet metal, as well as Abi’s belief in the mood-uplifting power of colour and form, the result is a series of multi-functional containers in three different sizes and colour combinations. You can also adorn the set with a small container in polished stainless steel or satin-finished stainless steel with 24-carat, hand-applied gold plating.

But dining room design isn’t all about the table setting: Alessi’s timepieces – also created in collaboration with Abi – make trendy additions to your wall. The Infinite clock features a sculptural form with continuous curves, while the Dotty clock is a playful study on the designer’s interest in colours and geometrical shapes.
