Knowledge of Design Week (KODW) 2024 Concludes With Over 2,300 in Attendance

The curtains have closed on Knowledge of Design Week (KODW) 2024, a three-day extravaganza that brought together over 30 trailblazing design pioneers and creative leaders from diverse industries. Held at W Hong Kong hotel and other venues, the event saw a convergence of innovative minds under the theme "Inter/Section: Crafting Tomorrow's Design." The result was a vibrant exchange of ideas, envisioning a future where design, business, and society intersect in harmony.


With over 2,300 attendees, KODW 2024 solidified Hong Kong's reputation as a hub for design, technology, and innovation, bridging the gap between Asia and the world. The event featured 30 forums, 7 workshops, 5 masterclasses, and numerous networking sessions, providing a platform for creatives to explore the intersections of craftsmanship and technology.


Building on the momentum, the BODW 2024 summit later this year promises to be an exciting sequel, showcasing exceptional talent and creative visionaries in design, brands, and innovation under the theme "Inter/Section: Design, Artistry, and Innovation."


At KODW 2024, discussion topics spanned Scenography and Exhibition Design, Communication Design and AI, Architecture and Built Environment, Craftsmanship & Artisans, Design Education, and Furniture & Product Design. Renowned speakers shared their insights, sparking thought-provoking conversations among attendees.


Nathalie Crinière, Founder and CEO of Agence NC, delved into the importance of understanding cultural heritage in design, emphasizing the need to communicate the roots of inspiration. Meanwhile, Marianne Lardilleux, Director of Aesop's Global Retail Design, highlighted the significance of intelligence and sustainability in interior design, prioritizing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.


Sylvie Corréard, CEO of Les Arts Décoratifs, shared her approach to design, inspired by the intersections of heritage and contemporary creation. Dennis Chan, Founder and Creative Director of Qeelin, spoke about balancing Eastern and Western traditions in design, while Alexis Georgacopoulos and Rama Gheerawo discussed the crucial role of design in solving societal challenges.
Other notable speakers included Lex Pott, Founder and Designer of studio LEX POTT, and Frank Chou, Founder & Creative Director of Frank Chou Design Studio, who explored the evolving landscape of design in East and West.
