Many have enlisted the help of interior design firms to navigate the complex web of home renovation, but a lack of certification and common standard sometimes leads to poor project quality and customer service that’s below par.
According to a report released by the Consumer Council in 2020, 244 complaints were related to decoration/renovation services. Other surveys by the Council conducted last year found that home renovation quotations were generally vague in details, with sketchy quotations and ambiguous completion date being the common cases.
This points to the need for a common standard to bolster the quality of services in the industry. In light of this, Home Journal and world-class certification body SGS have jointly launched the SGS x ADC Interior Design Service Excellence Certificate.
As SGS’ first certification scheme in Hong Kong dedicated to interior design, the Certificate assesses and evaluates the professional standards of design services. It aims to recognise compliant design services that meet SGS standards. Having passed through a series of independent audit and verifications in accordance with international standards, firms that successfully obtain the Certificate demonstrate their commitment to meet client expectations along with competence in delivering quality design services.
The Certificate is a trusted source that helps you identify the most professional and reliable interior design companies, making sure you get the best design services you deserve.
