Dreamy white colour, minimalist furnishings and a soothing open-plan arrangement make this family pad in Taiwan a complete dream.
Equal parts stylish and cosy, many homeowners are opting for an American country style interior for its homemade sensibility. The owner of this 850-sq.ft residence in Taiwan has a penchant for natural simplicity and the warm woody texture, making the said home style a more than apt choice.
Rose and creamy white is the main colour palette, the line carved board and wood floor cultivating a homey and cosy vibe. The design team at Ude Design also make use of items with cold-baked-paint finish to craft an exquisite tactile touches. The strong contrast between the white space and black metal embellishment and wood furniture softens up the cold feeling usually brought by a large swathe of white area.
Commenting on the open-plan layout, the design team says that “the wall right by the dining table makes the demarcation between the public and private realms. The living room, dining area and the study form the same horizontal line, forming a visual linearity and allowing natural light in.”
The study and dining room are divided by casement doors. The full-wall cabinets with open shelves are a request from the client: a place to store all her favourite books and collections.
