Clever space-making tricks turn this 355-sq.ft. 1-bedroom apartment into a minimal and functional living space.
Design studio Soek Arquitetura helms the remodelling project of this 355-sq.ft. space in Sao Paulo, Brazil that used to have a plain 1-bedroom layout. Now it’s furnished with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and swathed in natural light.
The design team makes use of a few space-saving tactics. First up is transforming the cabinet space into the core area of the home, doubling as a functional furniture and storage and providing direct access to the bathroom and kitchen.
Its tactile surface hides up the swing doors, sliders and folding doors, as well as the many materials, textures and colours behind, conjuring the illusion of consistency. Furniture and the cabinet divide the unit into different living zones: the dining space, kitchen, bathroom and living room, maximising both function and space.
