littleMORE Interior Design goes for a calming and homey palette for a young couple’s 450-sq.ft. apartment in Parc Oasis, Kowloon.
“We wanted to create a quiet sanctuary for the couple, who chose to settle in this low-density residential property, to unwind and recharge,” says the design team. Pale mustard yellow paint forms the base tone of the living and dining rooms; complementing the harmonious colour is matt oak flooring and well-designed furniture in cherry and walnut wood.
Before the remodelling, the apartment came with a standard kitchen that took up a big portion of the living area. Replacing the solid wall with a half-waist kitchen cabinet opens up the cooking-cum-dining space, letting the homeowners interact with each other during cooking sessions. “They prefer simple and healthy meals so an open kitchen furnished in white and wood materials suits their lifestyle well,” says the team.
To make work from home way easier, the team set up a flexible, transformable work station behind the sofa: by pulling down a work top from the tall cabinet custom made by the team themselves. The master bedroom decked in khaki tone emanate cosiness and simplicity, the use of soothing colour offsetting the slightly compact space.
