Imagine waking up to the endless stretch of the ocean right from your window – this stunning villa, perched beside the city’s tranquil harbour, is the perfect sanctuary for a family where luxury and homely comfort meet.
The villa’s pièce de résistance is its extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glass. Forget conventional walls; here, you’re bathed in natural light and treated to uninterrupted ocean vistas. Earthy tones and dark oak, paired with minimalist lighting and elegant materials, imbue the residence with a sophisticated and artistic vibe.
Maggy Cheung, artistic director at Grande Interior Design, noted: “The homeowners enjoy entertaining friends at home. So, we incorporated multiple dining areas, both Western and Chinese kitchens, and a fabulous outdoor dining space. This set-up lets them revel in the villa’s luxury while enjoying the breathtaking views.”
Stepping into the foyer, you’re greeted by a cleverly designed space where wall panels discreetly hide the entrance. This spacious area is perfectly utilised with a cloakroom on one side, and a guest powder room on the other. The full-height central wall, adorned with a waist-high cabinet, mirror, and artwork, adds depth and warmth.
Move past the foyer, and you find yourself in a sprawling living and dining area connected to Western and Chinese kitchens and a breakfast nook. This layout not only enhances convenience, but also creates an open and airy feel.
The living room’s understated elegance, highlighted by oil paintings and metal display racks, exudes a refined charm. Sliding doors cleverly separate the kitchens to keep cooking fumes at bay.
The master suite, with its mesmerising sea views, is a haven of calm. Cheung said: “The suite is covered in light white tones, creating a calming vibe. The headboard, paired with spherical pendants, adds a touch of whimsy. We’ve also included a walk-in family lounge for the homeowners to unwind in.”
The master bathroom is a throwback to vintage elegance, featuring cobalt blue stone tiles and metallic elements. It boasts double sinks, a standalone bathtub, and a separate shower. Connecting directly to the walk-in closet, it ensures a smooth daily routine.
Each of the other bedrooms has its own unique flair, perfect for hosting guests. Two rooms feature wall-mounted storage units that cleverly conceal a Murphy bed and a massage bed, making these spaces versatile.
Recognising the male homeowner’s need for a home office, one room has been dedicated to this purpose. Cheung pointed out: “We expanded the study, ensuring there’s ample space for a desk and chairs, and even a sofa area for meetings.”
The children’s bedrooms are a delight, bursting with colour and fun. The daughter’s room is spacious and bright, complete with a sleeping area, en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and study. The son’s room maximises space with a large wardrobe in the corridor, providing ample storage without encroaching on the sleeping area.
Blessed with stunning sea views, this villa shines not only in its design details but also in its warm and inviting vibe, making it the perfect retreat for the homeowners to truly enjoy life.
