Shunmyo Masuno, a renowned Japanese garden designer, has embarked on his first design project in Taiwan, which finds its home in the vibrant city of Kaohsiung.
Shunmyo Masuno, who is highly esteemed in Japan, specializes in creating landscapes with flowing water and dry rock gardens, exuding a deep Zen atmosphere to the garden spaces. Despite having few works overseas, he finally accepted the invitation from the Kaohsiung FBC Group to design the outdoor gardens for their top-tier residential project.
After several years of construction, the project was recently completed. Masuno utilized stone materials derived from Japan, allowing residents to immediately feel the natural ambiance upon entering the residence, with the sound of cascading waterfalls and stone landscape features. In the central courtyard, one can also admire the lush greenery of an expansive forest and the scattered elements of stone landscaping, injecting a sense of harmony and tranquility into the space.
Shunmyo Masuno's design brings together several renowned designers. This includes the invitation of Singapore's SCDA to design the main structure, as well as Singapore's Jaya International Design, who has previously designed multiple luxury hotels, to create the furniture, restaurants, and library. Additionally, the lighting design is crafted by Australia's The Flaming Beacon.
