When you’re always on the road, there’s no anticipation like the anticipation of coming home.
For this couple, with property around the world, designer Clifton Leung sought to ensure every detail has been optimised for their arrival.
Bringing together the comfort of a hotel with the warmth of a home, luxurious fittings as well as personal effects have been designed into the 1,700sqft apartment. Space for their art collection has been considered, while in the children’s bedroom, a specially designed, treehouse-inspired bed has been installed – a favourite for the China-based couple as well as the Clifton Leung Design Workshop principal himself.
Custom-designed furniture have also been built to maximise – and hide – storage, and in some case double as dividers, as in the island in the living area with cleverly designed pull-out seating that also serves as a dining table. On the opposite side, the children’s quarters hide behind panels that also house storage, while the dining room adjacent features an Armani cabinet as well as an extendable table.
For a couple that’s constantly on the go, the need for storage has been considered at every turn – from the walk-in closet in the master’s bedroom and the cabinets in the guest room, to the custom-built cabinets in the foyer.
