Framed by magnificent gardens and lush greenery, this cosy home in Sai Kung by Celia Lau Studio is an elegant countryside retreat.
“After years of living in this flat, the homeowner is keen to change the dynamics of the living space, with the end goal of creating a larger living and entertaining space with garden views,” said designer Celia Lau.
Lau went on to craft a modern living environment through a neutral colour palette, geometric pattern wall covering, marble and brass metal finish detailing.
“As the owner prefers cooler colours, we opted for a grey dusty pink and white colour tone, lending the space subtle elegance and sophistication,” Lau added.
The Steinway 6 feet 10 grand piano having been moved to the original dining area by the entryway, the foyer becomes a focal point and a mini music room leading up to the living room.
This tactic instantaneously opens up the space so it becomes an extension of the living area. The dining room is relocated by the window next to the living room, making room for a bigger, rectangular dining table ideal for family gathering and entertaining.
Both the living and dining spaces are fitted with large windows overlooking serene garden views, warm sunlight breezing throughout the day and the night changes into starry skies.
