Tucked away in Yuen Long, this 600-square-foot haven is a masterpiece of harmonious cohabitation, where its human resident and two cats live in perfect sync. Otherwhere Studio carefully weaved together the living areas of both humans and cats, complete with soothing retreats and climbing structures that cater to the unique needs of all inhabitants.

"The homeowner wanted to create a space that would let them really engage and interact with their cats," explained the team at Otherwhere Studio. "They wanted to make sure there was plenty of room for the cats to play and stay active."

Cats love climbing and playing, so the living room needs to offer ample space for them to roam freely. A cat tunnel and jumping board are thoughtfully incorporated, and the living room is connected to the bedroom, allowing the cat to easily move between the two areas. This clever design promotes exercise, interaction and a harmonious family life.

To ensure the cat has free rein to roam, the home's decor is intentionally pared down, with only essential furniture and minimal accessories. And the materials used for the furnishings and flooring are highly durable and easy to clean, keeping in mind the cat's natural scratching behavior.

The bedroom design really puts the cat's needs first, with a custom climbing structure and dedicated play/relaxation space. This thoughtful setup creates a comfortable, peaceful atmosphere where the homeowner and their feline companion can bond, play, and simply savor the warmth of family life together.

The bedroom windowsill has a built-in cat jumping platform, letting the feline resident leap and climb up from there. The cat can then traverse the special climbing structures that lead all the way to the living room, giving them the freedom to move between the two spaces.

The design of the master bedroom and bathroom was thoughtfully planned with the cat's safety and comfort in mind. The bedroom has a designated cosy sleeping spot for the cat, so the owner and their furry friend can hang out together. And in the bathroom, there's a special area just for the cat to bathe, with features that make it easy for the cat to groom itself.

The team at Otherwhere Studio thoughtfully designed this harmonious home to work seamlessly for both the homeowner and their cat.

The Otherwhere Studio team explains, "The homeowner shared with us the intimate details of their lives with their beloved cat, and that affectionate bond was the inspiration behind this one-of-a-kind dwelling. It's not just a regular house - it's a warm, loving home where the homeowner and their cat can happily coexist and find genuine happiness together."
