When a home is full of unpleasant memories of the past, how can we rewrite it with interior design?
The owner of this 968-square-foot unit in Milan, Italy, is a physicist who hopes to welcome a new life by renovating the living space.
As the building is considerably old, the interior design company ATOMAA, took an effort to reserve the historical features of the unit, such as cement floor tiles and clear-textured maroon herringbone parquet floors.
Dynamic height is the main design theme. The design team uses different free-standing and built-in furniture to highlight the transition from dark to bright corners. From the small foyer to the raised bathroom, to the corner of the bed, everything echoes the same theme. The space is filled with furniture with many round elements, which brings a sense of warmth to the space.
