Cool colors can sometimes be cold and distant. That being said, through a combination of materials and textures, cool colors can also carve out a calming and soothing atmosphere.
Manned by r.ma projects, this 800-square-foot house uses cool colors in its main space with a variety of artistic finishes, such as Italian-style textured paint, terrazzo, natural solid wood furniture, and wooden screens with moss to create a living environment as if one is staying amidst nature.
To meet living needs, the homeowner indicated that he would like to reconfigure the original three bedrooms into one bedroom. The design team thus demolished the second and third bedrooms, transforming the space into a cloakroom and enlarging the master bathroom to create a well-equipped suite. They also sourced furniture and accessories from all over the world, including Japan, Denmark, Portugal and Belgium; each area waft out an exoticism.
The design team noted that the biggest difficulty encountered during the whole conception and design process was integrating the projector and the storage cabinet. This is because the homeowner wants to replace the TV with a projector, but the only storage space available is above the TV cabinet.
So the team merged the design of the projection board and the locker, transformed the projection board into a sliding board, and integrated it into the design of the locker. When in use, one can pull the cabinet door to the middle; when not, gently pull it to the side to maximize storage.
