This serene refuge is a calm and inviting place to work, play and unwind.
Owning a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and be completely at ease is the goal of many metropolitans. This 560-sq. ft. simple, unfussy home designed by the founder of Hong Kong furniture and lighting brand Archetypal illustrates perfectly such an ideal home.
The homeowner and the design team work together in building the dream home, with every corner of the abode designed by the owner himself. Besides European arches, the abode is inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics wabi-sabi – a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
At the airy apartment, the space is dominated by lacquered walls, warm light wood and soft tones. Each piece of interior decoration reflects the owner’s life philosophy. In the most subtle places, the tranquil energy of the space is accompanied by exquisite details, creating a perfect sanctuary from the bustling sounds of Hong Kong.
