Located in the charming Greenwich Village neighbourhood in the heart of Manhattan, this chic 1,900-sq.ft. abode is home to a young successful woman.
Built in 1860, the building was a church before being transformed into eight modern loft condos. Interior designer Laura Hur, founder and principal of Lorla Studio, crafted one of the apartments for a young, sexy working professional and her lovely Havanese dog. “Our client spends a lot of time at work. She is the chief legal and operating officer at a startup that focuses on transforming the country’s infrastructure through technology,” says Hur.
At the two-bedroom flat, a warm white paint weaves through all the common areas, brightening up the space and providing a neutral backdrop for the furniture and artwork. “Our client is sophisticated and successful, and we wanted the colours, materials and vibe of the space to embody this,” the designer says.
The interior is decked out in vintage and custom pieces, soft textiles, warm woods and hand-touch elements such as handmade ceramics. The artworks are a mix of custom commissions, limited edition prints, and originals from artists across the globe, like LRNCE, Taryn Brown and Jenny Pennywood.
“The homeowner has a very impressive resume and career, who bought this incredible condo in one of Manhattan’s most desirable neighbourhoods,” says the interior designer. “Having achieved so much on her own, she is living a life that is inspiring to so many people, particularly women.”
