A fusion of heritage and contemporary gives this Indian farmhouse a distinct personality.
The houseowners’ taste for the classic and historic directed the team at AMPM Designs to blend classical colours, architectural features and Indian heritage. The owners also decided to keep their beloved horses as close to their dwelling as possible.
Located in Pune, India, the house adjoining a stud farm sprawls some 3,000 square feet on a 1-acre land. The interiors boast Shahabad floors in leather finish with a large mirror crafted by Indian artisans that resembles the owner’s beloved horse, along with bold colours like crimson red distinctive of local India. Use of classic Indian handwoven rug dialogue with contemporary fresh colours like olive green, powder blue and nudes on the walls to brighten up the space.
The 1,500-square-feet home consists of a living room, a kitchen with bar area, a powder room and 2 bedrooms. The wine cellar and bar counter with fire cut bricks carved in arches – there’s simply no better way to showcase the rich heritage of India.
Another highlight is most definitely the patio. With a deck of unique illumination reminiscent of a sky full of stars, the patterned black and white flooring, white walls and the pergolas above creates the perfect atmosphere for one to kick back and take in the beautiful landscape.
