The family relocated to a seaside residence in Lohas Park, Tseung Kwan O, seeking a comfortable environment for their two daughters to thrive.

Designer Ray Hung of Homeric Interior Design planned the interiors with a Scandinavian theme to harmonise with the sea view. "The design incorporates a variety of colors and lines to reflect the outdoor scenery and cultivate a natural ambiance," he explained.

The homeowners didn't ask for any elaborate design, they simply wanted a comfortable home that has a focus on the sea view. As such, the colour palette centres on blues and whites to highlight the seascape, complemented by wood furniture and feature wallpapers for a cosy natural feel.

The living and dining rooms walls were thoughtfully appointed, blending light-toned wood veneers, soothing grey wallpaper and crisp white paint – a clever composition that imbues the space with visual intrigue. The circular dining table and the integrated curved dining chairs echo each other's organic forms, yet the contrasting materials – the wooden table and the upholstered chairs – lend a tactile richness to the setting.

To echo the ocean view outside, a PH pendant lamp designed by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen takes centre stage, its varying shades of blue casting an aquatic glow over the dining area. In the adjacent living room, a navy blue sofa serves as the backdrop, its vivacity amplified by green and yellow throw pillows that inject energy into the space.

In a masterful spatial reconfiguration, a partition wall near the living and dining room was replaced by a sleek glass sliding door to create a home office. Ray explained, "Using a glass partition allows the natural daylight and the outdoor view to be brought into the interior, while also enhancing the spatial perception of the living room and home office. The colour scheme for the home office matches that of the living and dining areas, mainly featuring white and wood tones. We also added wallpaper with a leaf texture pattern to create a more natural feel."

Within the home office, an elegant L-shaped arrangement of dual desks​​ is positioned near the window. The bookshelves and storage cabinets are placed along the wall. Bookshelves and ample storage cabinets line the walls, their upper sections featuring sleek white doors that create a sense of openness and airiness.​​

The master bedroom features a captivating colour scheme of light grey and apricot. Ray noted, "The master bedroom has a mature and composed feel to it, conveying a sense of comfort. The colour palette leans more towards cooler tones, with the use of a light grey concrete-textured wallpaper on the walls. The furniture tones are predominantly walnut and grey, creating a cohesive and soothing atmosphere in the space."

The homeowners wanted their two daughters to share a room, to learn mutual compromise and understanding; the room is decorated in pink, complemented by geometric patterned wallpaper. Although the space is limited, it accommodates two beds and two wardrobes by taking advantage of the high ceiling. Additionally, one of the beds is elevated to make better use of the vertical space.
