In Bergamo, Italy, a 270 sq.ft micro-apartment is big enough to have its own private garden.

Designed by FPEnterprise for a young couple, this playful home uses dramatic indigo blue and diagonal lines to reflect the owners' Italian and Persian heritage. The ground-level lodge, part of a renovated 1968 villa, maximises functionality with a rooftop garden extending the living area.

A perforated metal grid shades the south façade, creating a triangular garden and referencing Persian architecture.

Inside, warm OSB wood governs the living room, contrasting with the printed marble kitchen. Persian indigo-inspired blue resin clads the bathroom, with the shower opening onto the private garden. Diagonal lines feature in the kitchen countertop and window frames, creating a dynamic corridor where twin wooden alcoves encourage conversation.
