When given the task of designing a home for a family of four with differing lifestyles and tastes, Grande Interior Design used a "Harmony in Diversity" approach to accommodate each person’s unique style while maintaining a sense of spaciousness throughout the home.
The team pointed out, “A soft earth-toned palette and modern furniture was used throughout the space, paired with diverse finishes like wood, slatted patterns and fabrics to craft an elegant and comfortable layout.”
The foyer is adorned with light coloured wood panelling and mirrors, creating an illusion of more space. There is a wooden shoe cabinet and a bench on wheels decorated with wooden strips on the surface, perfect for everyday use. The bench can even be tucked away at the bottom of the cabinet to save space.
The tall and narrow dining room initially posed a potential challenge. To address this, the designer utilised tapered ceiling panels that decrease the perceived depth of the dining area, drawing attention to the lower part and creating a sense of depth. The panels between each other create a neat and consistent line, providing a clean and organised visual effect
The dining room is designed with display and storage cabinets along the wall, using marble and other stone materials to enrich the visual layering. The shelves are equipped with LED light strips, with neat lines, and a metal pendant composed of a sphere and straight lines is installed above the dining table to bring out a modern style. Since the dining room is relatively narrow and some corners may have insufficient lighting, recessed spotlights are used on the ceiling to provide additional light sources.
The three bedrooms each showcase a unique style that comes together to create a beautifully unified aesthetic. The Grande Interior Design team said: "Although the layout of each room varies, the shared palette of colours and materials creates that feeling of ‘Harmony in Diversity'."
The master suite maintains an air of grandeur with its serene earth tones. A steel accent cabinet with strip lighting serves as a chic mirrored vanity alongside the TV. A standout feature is the attached walk-in closet, with illuminated shelving that takes storage organisation to a new level, making it easy to get the clothes you need at any hour.
The daughter's room may be tight on space, but it's packed with everything she needs to create her own private oasis. The bed frame cleverly integrates storage, eliminating the need for clunky wardrobes. The remaining area was transformed into a cosy haven, complete with a small desk and brightly illuminated shelves.
The son's room features a double-decker concept, with the upper level reserved for sleep and the lower area serving as a family lounge and the son's entertainment area. This ingenious setup maximises space while preserving his privacy.
