When you strive to have a luxurious condo, budget alongside location and furniture would be the first few things on your investment list. However, to imbue an apartment with personality and uniqueness, breakthrough ideas are another asset that makes your home different to others, something that designing firms are always ready to take on.
Put together for a family of four, the highrise northwest-facing apartment is located in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2, an urbanised area that shows the affluent hustle of the city’s centre without losing a sense of community. This 2,098 sq. ft. penthouse is designed to flaunt the abode’s boldness by repurposing what can ruminate nature's complexion.
Designer in chief Hùng Võ and his associates wanted to start with the ambition of merging nature with architecture. Determined with what they envisioned, APS Concept strategically made an impressive floor-to-ceiling wall that simulates the texture of a rough and raw black cliff. Both the homeowner and the guests of this residence are amazed by how the distinguished mountain was unearthed into the space.
Behind the scene, the aforementioned extensive wall is a 19-ft. tall formation of cement, wire mesh and iron. To achieve the final look of a mimicked rockface, this piece of craftsmanship is covered in black and matches the apartment's classy and mysterious colour scheme. Running through the house’s atrium, the structural imitation of the black cliff is the number one highlight which was articulated perfectly to satisfy the owner’s desire.
Moving on to the next bespoke design that is yet to be the last is the metallic epoxy flooring. Metallic epoxy is a unique coating process, consisting of multi-layers that combine clear epoxy and metallic colourant, enhancing the glamorous and elegant effects with its shiny finish. Poured on site, both architects and experts put time into this exotic and rhythmic slither for the base of the apartment.
We absolutely love how it flows naturally from the upper level, along the steel stairway down to the entire living space like the watercourse streams along the cliffs,” APS Concept shares. This meticulous detail harmonically accompanies the black cliff, creating a natural spatial vibe.
Lastly, the curved staircase is entirely made of sheet steel, from the steps to the handrail. Borrowing the waterfall pattern, the cambering stairs soften the space and add more flow to the epoxy’s “stream”.
To draw attention, APS Concept incorporated the apartment’s sleek look with the famous pigmented orange hue from the couture house Hermès, which delivers a pop of colour to the surrounding. Repeating shades of citrus can be seen again on the interiors and wall panels, skitters the condo with a touch of warmth without taking away the enigmatic mood and tone.
