Nestled in the pine-clad forests of Dalat, Les Rêveurs looks like it was ripped straight out of a Claude Monet painting.
Well-known for its majestic picturesque, Dalat, Vietnam is one of the highland cities that remains the French colonial resort heritage of the early 1900s. Continuing to present to not only locals but also foreign visitors, Dalat is many people’s favourite getaway destination. Created as high-class resort spaces close to the unspoiled nature, Les Rêveurs villa prolongs the city’s dreamy sentiment and embodies the misty vibes of its surrounding.
A modern style mixed with a rustic feel is how the 3,875 sq. ft. resort home was designed by APS Concept. Hidden in the middle of the woods, Les Rêveurs consists of a spacious kitchen-living room, four bedrooms and a barbecue grill out on the open porch. To provide all conveniences, the neighbouring site has multiple services such as a children's play area, café, tour organiser and many more. However, suppose you intend to have a laid-back experience as if Les Rêveurs is your daily abode, this two-storey house can also turn into a personal studio away from home, allowing you to relax while still being able to work remotely.
With primary materials such as concrete and wood covering the house for both exterior and interior, Les Rêveurs has a simple configuration, letting decorative items and the colour palette paint and furnish every corner, forming the building’s continuity uniform.
For the common area on the first floor, APS Concept implemented floor-to-ceiling glass windows, offering guests to fully embrace themselves in natural sunlight and appreciate the abundant pine trees. Using contemporary furniture pieces in warm shades like brown and orange, the earthy tones and seamless designs decorate the living room to have a timeless look, almost like a mid-century modern appeal.
In the kitchenette, the white marble island acts as a dining area across from the fully equipped cookery station. Extended to lead to the backyard, the forest-facing porch is a lovely space for family and friend bonding time, where the habitants can enjoy morning tea or organise evening house parties with sizzling barbecues and excellent beers.
As for the transitioning space, an egg-shaped floating chair is hung from the ceiling, paired with the smooth surface zigzag staircases processed from natural stone. Access via this feature is the intimate zone where the bedrooms are located. Furthermore, in order to allow guests to have different experiences for their relaxing stay at Les Rêveurs, each sleeping compartment bears a name of a famous city around the world, expressing separate themes while being under the same roof.
Lastly, the white circular stairs from the second floor bring people to the attic, walled by extensive glass roof and windows, opening a wide viewing angle to the forest outdoors and serving as a book reading space - one of the ideal corner APS Concept constructed for the villa, especially for the rainy season.
Ever since the pandemic hit, the travelling trend in tourism has seen significant changes, people hope to balance their vacationing time with family and friends while still ensuring safety and a healthy way to restore the body’s vitality by being close to nature. Putting together as a way to bring unique living and working experiences to others, the musing Airbnb is a modern castle in the middle of paradise-like Dalat.
