Airing on television from 1987 through 1995, Full House led the charge for family-friendly sitcoms of that era.

If, like much of America, you grew up watching the members of the Tanner family — played by would-be household names such as Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — navigate life, you might recognise the Victorian-style residence that just hit the market in San Francisco’s upscale Lower Pacific Heights neighbourhood for a cool US$5.99 million.

Located in the heart of one of the US’ most expensive cities, the house’s exterior is a familiar sight for the show’s enthusiasts.

In 2016, Full House creator and executive producer Jeff Franklin — who had also selected the home as the show’s exterior location before its premiere in 1980 — acquired the property for US$4 million before restoring its light grey exterior to its former glory, right around the time Netflix commissioned the Fuller House reboot.

Inside, however, the airy, light-filled filled abode looks nothing like the modest, lived-in home of widowed father Danny Tanner and his daughters.

The four-bedroom residence originally built by architect Charles Hinkel Lewis recently received an elegant update by architect Richard Landry, whose other high-profile projects include Kourtney Kardashian’s as well as Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady’s homes.

One caveat? Fans of the show continue to search for the home to this day, so its new owner may have to get used to routine trips from tourists and Full House devotees.
