Take a peek inside the Manhattan home that inspired Taylor Swift's song Cornelia Street, which costs as much as her concert ticket from resellers...
Take note, Swifties. Taylor Swift's former New York City home on Cornelia Street is now available for rent. According to People, the Grammy-winning singer temporarily rented the home in 2016 while renovating her Tribeca property. Many fans believe this place inspired her 2019 song Cornelia Street from the album "Lover", where she details memories of living with a romantic partner there.
According to the Zillow listing, the West Village home was built in 1870 as a carriage house before transforming into a spectacular home with a modernist flair. The 21' wide townhouse has four bedrooms, five full baths and two half baths with double height ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. It also features three gas fireplaces, a pool and a drive-in garage.
The guest suite is on your right as you walk in on the first floor, where the garage is. One floor below is the pool deck, which offers a lounge area with soaring ceilings and a Basalt stone tile floor in front of a gas fireplace. It even has doors that open out to an exterior patio.
The second floor is where the living room is situated. Luxury is woven into every corner, featuring beamed ceilings, blond parquet Russian Ipe wood floors, leaded glass windows and a wood-burning fireplace with a marble hearth. The kitchen has a Wolf range, subzero refrigerator and wine fridge, a Fisher & Paykal double drawer dishwasher and granite counter tops. In the connected dining room, you'll find floor-to-ceiling casement windows that open up to tranquil West Village backyard views. At the front is a bedroom/home office with a full bath that faces Cornelia Street.
The third-floor comprises two bedroom suites with private terraces. Down the hall, the grand primary bedroom features high ceilings, a walk-in closet and dramatic marble bath with a glass enclosed shower. The other bedroom offers an en-suite bath, walk-in closet and custom floor-to-ceiling casement windows and French doors that opens to a terrace overlooking Cornelia Street. Head upstairs and you'll find the rooftop terrace with gabled roof structure where you can enjoy open views of downtown New York.
The property is listed for rent with the Corcoran Group under agents Laurence Carty, Irene Lo and Jennifer Rahilly. It will cost you US$45,000 a month to live there – which according to Fortune, is the same price as a ticket to her Eras Tour concert ticket from resellers – but hey, if you do, you could sing I rent a place on Cornelia Street and mean every word.
