The tallest residential project in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, Madison House sets a new standard for residential living with striking interiors done by multidisciplinary design firm Gachot and architecture by Handel Architects.
Christine Gachot, Founder of Gachot Studios, say the design concept takes advantage of Madison House’s extraordinary height and showcases the great views. “We employed generous planes of rich, natural materials and hand-applied finishes. This lush materiality brings warmth and context to the building's monumental scale.”
Gachot is the force behind the interiors of each of the 199 beautifully appointed homes and oversized amenities spaces at the development. The interiors are defined by a richness of materiality, quality of construction, and vast sense of light and space. Large planes of luxurious natural materials mirror the vast expanses of glass that let in light from the city outside.
“The light and inviting interiors at Madison House are a soothing retreat in the heart of New York City and provide the ideal flexible backdrop for contemporary urban life,” says Gachot. “The interiors are defined by beautiful materials and measured aesthetics and a careful consideration of how one lives, how space is inhabited, and how a physical space informs a lifestyle.”
The amenities include approximately 30,000 square feet of wellness and leisure spaces, beginning with a grand double-height granite lobby anchored by two hearths made from Calacatta Borghini. The double-height private lounge features oak-plank flooring and a wood-panelled kitchen and pantry. In the private dining suite, a full-function kitchen is rendered in custom wood millwork and large swaths of marble.
