Merging the worlds of architecture and automotives, Mercedes-Benz is making its mark on the Miami skyline with the construction of its first branded tower in the United States. The tower, named Mercedes-Benz Places, is expected to open its doors in 2027.
The esteemed German automaker is teaming up with JDS Development Groups to launch a 67-story mixed-use building spanning an impressive 2.5 million square feet, located in Miami's vibrant Brickell neighbourhood. Within this awe-inspiring complex, a staggering 791 private homes will cater to a diverse range of buyers. Studio units will be available starting from US$550,000, while luxurious three-bedroom residences will command prices of up to US$4 million. The development will also integrate 200,000 square feet of office space, health and wellness facilities, a 174-key hotel, retail shops and ample on-site parking. Notably, the project boasts the largest green area in the Brickell neighborhood, further enhancing its overall allure.
The design of Mercedes-Benz Places exudes an architectural prowess that sets it apart from Miami's existing skyline. Its captivating cube-shaped tower, with interconnecting geometric forms, creates a striking visual statement. Departing from conventional stacked-box approaches, the tower incorporates flowing elliptical lines and organic shapes inspired by nature. Each balcony and terrace is meticulously crafted to capture light in captivating ways. The use of technical silver, along with the iconic black and white colours associated with the Mercedes-Benz brand, establishes an aesthetic dominance.
Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG, explains the philosophy behind the design: "Our distinctive style is Sensual Purity. This philosophy, based on the duality of emotion and intelligence, consists of a hot and a cool pole. The cool aspect represents the tradition of geometric German design, originating in the Bauhaus. This crucial part of our brand was the inspiration for the architecture of this extraordinary landmark, Mercedes-Benz Places in Miami."
Notably, the renowned real estate agent Ryan Serhant, star of Million Dollar Listing New York and upcoming Netflix series House of Serhant, is overseeing this monumental development project, marking his largest endeavour in Miami to date. And according to CNW Group, a record-breaking sales achievement at the recently-announced Mercedes-Benz Places in Miami. The team representing sales and marketing at the 67-story, mixed-use residential project in Brickell has now transacted 100 sales and counting, representing purchasers from over twenty countries.
