Lancer Square has recently introduced a brand-new show apartment that beautifully combines classic and contemporary styles, taking inspiration from the graceful charm of the royal borough it resides in. Developed by Bellworth Developments, which is part of the renowned Malaysian conglomerate LGB Group, Lancer Square is conveniently located near Kensington Palace, just a short distance from Kensington High Street—a well-known shopping haven in London.
In line with the rich history and lively atmosphere of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, this apartment pays homage to various local influences, resulting in warm and luxurious spaces that echo the architectural marvels and the enchanting surroundings of the area. The 3,312 square foot, five-bedroom showroom at Lancer Square has been beautifully designed by Studio Ashby. Showcasing a refined palette inspired by nature, the apartment features soothing sky blues, smoky greens and dusty pinks, along with bespoke craftsmanship and inviting upholstery. Situated in a prime corner location, this apartment offers stunning panoramic vistas of the picturesque rooftops of Kensington. Drawing inspiration from these views and the local surroundings, the interiors boast a rich materiality, layered accessories and sophisticated finishing touches.

Collaborating with some of Britain's skilled craftsmen and artisans, Studio Ashby has curated a show apartment that embraces a delightful eclecticism. While maintaining a sophisticated demeanour in the choice of furniture and lighting, the apartment also features playful hero pieces artfully integrated throughout the space. An example of this is the vibrant yellow shade that enhances the kitchen, accompanied by a lively artwork titled "Goodbye Bacon and Eggs" by Michael Taylor, which sets a playful and vibrant tone for the breakfast corner.
Sophie Ashby, founder of design firm Studio Ashby, said, “The bones of this apartment at Lancer Square were a total joy to work with. Our vision for the interiors centred around evoking a strong sense of calm so we leaned into a refined earthy palette rooted in nature - embracing sage green, ochre, terracotta, creams, rusts and blues and other joyful sunrise shades throughout.”
Studio Ashby's expertly curated collection, Sister by Studio Ashby, can be found throughout the apartment, showcasing a selection of future heirlooms, bespoke furniture, art, and accessories. Notably, the Kudu dining chairs and Rhino armchairs exude a sense of innovation and style that adds to the overall aesthetic.
Within this collection, the dining area features a bench seat adorned with the earthy charm of the Patch fabric from The Jocasta Collection, Studio Ashby's debut fabric capsule. The fabric incorporates a combination of cerulean sky blue, solid stripes of gold and ochre, and flecked mahogany, elegantly intertwined with mohair and bouclé upholstery. An exquisite touch to the guest bedroom, the bed's headboard is adorned with the Afua fabric, featuring a Kente cloth motif inspired by Ghanaian heritage.
Studio Ashby draws inspiration from the abstract art pieces found in local galleries, incorporating art and antiques as central elements in their design. Additionally, antique pieces, reupholstered vintage items, and sustainable paints have been thoughtfully integrated into the furniture, fixtures, and equipment selections, bridging heritage and innovation in the apartment's composition.
