Kristina Karlsson, the mastermind behind Swedish design and lifestyle brand kikki.K, shares her most inspiring hotspots and treasures in the cosy neighbourhood she calls home in Falkenberg, Sweden.
Girl Next Door
My favourite shop in Falkenberg is called Girl Next Door. Sara, who owns the store, stocks most of my favourite Scandinavian brands like Malene Birger, Rodebjer and Samsøe & Samsøe. Most of my wardrobe is from this shop.
Borgmästargården
My favourite cafe is called Borgmästargården. They make the best cinnamon buns in town serve them with great coffee in beautiful interiors. I love their sofa designed by Arne Jacobsen. It's really relaxing to sit and look out at the old cobblestone streets and the people wandering by.
Ugglarps Grönt
One of my favourite places to visit is Ugglarps Grönt. It’s a farm shop full of the most amazing vegetables. They supply veggies to top restaurants in Scandinavia, like Noma. Located by the ocean, it’s merely a few kilometres away from town. I drive out there listening to my favourite podcast or simply enjoying a quiet moment.
Prostens Pizza
My favourite place to eat in Falkenberg is Prostens Pizza by the very talented TV chef Lisa Lemke. They make the best pizza in an old rustic converted farm barn with a wood fire pizza oven. In summer, we bike there through a lush forest and have a drink outside on the lawn. There are sheep, hens, and the most beautiful country view.
Home sweet home
My favourite street has got to be the one where my home is. We bought our summer abode about ten years ago and have loved every moment we get to spend here ever since. We have a beautiful view over the river and lots of green trees around us. It takes us about five 5 minutes to walk into town and it's about the same distance to the beach. It’s a home that I hope we can keep for generations as our summer destination in Sweden.
