What do you love most about your space? We can reinvent it endlessly depending on what we’re working on. It’s stimulating to have a range of working environments.
Favourite area in your workspace: The studio, as we can be discussing a new idea and just go ahead and prototype it instantly to see how it looks and functions. It’s a designer’s dream.
What are the pros and cons of working in Chai Wan? There’s no drawback to working here. It’s a lively neighbourhood, full of contrast, and we are lucky to be surrounded and supported by an amazing creative community.
Design movement you’re into at the moment: Lately we’ve been really fascinated with the work of British silversmith David Clarke and British ceramic artist Edmund de Waal.
Future project you’re excited about: We’re investigating, researching and experimenting for our next Julie & Jesse projects that will take us back to our beloved studio in Jingdezhen, China. We haven’t been there in a while, so we’re really excited.

EXPLORE
We’ve rediscovered Yau Ma Tei for a project we worked on called Tribute Hotel. We learned and visited every nook and cranny of the neighbourhood, and fell in love with the energy, history, and all that there is to see, eat and buy.
SHOP
In our free time we both like to cook, brew, pickle and bake, so lately we’ve been shopping our hearts out at Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei, where there’s an endless number of kitchen supply stores and treasures to be found.
