Using her personal experiences, Japanese artist Naomi Okubo explores the relationship between fashion and people. Her thought-provoking artworks examine how the pursuit of material goods has become a social phenomenon – one that has made people forget and ignore the necessities in life.

Rendered in amazing detail, the artworks capture brilliant floral patterns and vibrant hues through the clothing and interior settings depicted in each piece. The effect is stunning, and while I truly appreciate the ideas behind each painting, I can’t help but drool over the stunning decor and design she portrays in her body of work.

Below are some of our favorites.
