Amidst the countless fairs, exhibition openings, cocktail parties, and other artsy events taking place throughout the city this week, a new, design-focused fair launches at luxury design hotel Lanson Place in Causeway Bay. Running from March 22 to 27, The Best of East and West exhibition by Design Harbour is a carefully curated event showcasing some of the most interesting, limited-edition designs by both established and up-and-coming contemporary designers from around the world.
Leading the fair is special guest Michael Young, a leading British-born, Hong Kong-based designer who will be presenting his geometric lighting piece Clover, which is a series of sculptures arranged along a grid system and was created in collaboration with glassworks manufacturer Lasvit. Also presenting at the fair are Blue Shanghai White, which combines traditional Chinese craft techniques with the aesthetic of Chinese ink wash paintings to create beautiful hand-made porcelain home ware and furniture; Australian designer Christopher Boots, who takes his inspiration from famous French artist and writer Marcel Duchamp as well as his own Greek heritage; famous German architect Daniel Libeskind, who presents his first apartment building SAPPHIRE, which is based in Berlin; and plenty more.
The Best of East and West by Design Harbour takes place from March 22-27 at Lanson Place. Opening hours are from 9am to 8pm.
