While it is true that the gift of extraordinary creative talent is not bestowed upon everyone, the very nuanced emotional sensibilities and atmospheric gravitas that a fine work of art can bring is almost universally undisputed and appreciated.
But whether you are a seasoned art purveyor or an uninitiated enthusiast, the idea of building your own collection from the ground up can be a daunting task. There is much to consider other than mere love at first sight felt towards a work, from technical expertise to insights from expert collectors.
The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)’s newly launched SCAD Art Sales, an unprecedented full-service art consultancy that offers distinctive design and curatorial services to a global clientele of collectors and organisations, is perhaps the long-awaited answer that every art lover needs.
SCAD was founded with a mission to cultivate and celebrate careers in art and design, particularly to nourish the next generation of emerging talent—and its Art Sales platform harness this very core of the university’s ethos by connecting a global community of businesses, organisations, art enthusiasts and industry leaders to the university’s expansive artist network. Professional design consultations will be offered alongside assistance with custom framing, presentation, selections, acquisitions and installation—valuable guidance for a new collector to set sail on their collecting journey.
“Collectors of every ilk and companies of all sizes that are looking to elevate their spaces can purchase the work of the best creative minds, “says SCAD president and founder Paula Wallace. “Through SCAD Art Sales, our alumni, students and faculty have yet another SCAD avenue to redefine the art scene on a global scale.”
