While we're never going to run out of things to do in Hong Kong, some weekends all we want to do sit back, relax, and unwind.
Of course, there's no better way to accomplish this than with one of the weekend brunches this amazing city has to offer. Here we gather some of the spots on our radar when it comes to enjoying a filling weekend in the city – complete with pretty views, whether that of the Victoria Harbour or the buffet spread across the room.
Sunday Roasts at Gough's On Gough
On Sundays only, quintessential British restaurant Gough's On Gough by Timothy Oulton serves up a choice of roast rib of Hereford beef, roast loin of Dingley Dell pork, roast leg of Lake District lamb, and a vegetarian option of grilled celeriac steak. These juicy mains are served with unique sides each – including Yorkshire pudding with the beef, black pudding with the pork, lamb sausage with the Lake District lamb, and cauliflower cheese and celeriac 'gravy' for the meat-free pick. With a prawn cocktail to start with, and a pear trifle, apple crumble, or a Colston Basset Stilton cheese spread to round up your meal, a brunch at Gough's On Gough satiates carnivorous and savoury meat-free cravings alike.
Sundays from 12pm to 7:30pm, Gough's On Gough, 15 Gough Street, Central
Chaiwala's Holi Brunch Parties
Chaiwala is bringing Indian's colourful festival to weekends in Hong Kong with the Holi Brunch Party menu, available Saturdays and Sundays. Served on an actual street food trolley shipped all the way from India, diners are first treated to Indian snacks, including Chaiwala signatures Pani Puri with Jal-Jeera and Aloo Tikka spiced potato cakes. This is followed by dosas – a type of pancake and a traditional Indian breakfast dish – as well as one tandoor dish per person (pick from lamb chops, pink salmon, or the veggie platter with paneer tikka, Portobello mushrooms, cauliflower and pineapple, all chargrilled in the tandoor oven) and curry (Kerala fish curry, Old Delhi butter chicken, or saag paneer, all served with rice and a basket of naan). Indian sweets follow as desserts, which include pink candy floss straight from a cart, and diners also get a trip to the Chai Tea Station for their fill of classic chai, masala chai or ginger masala chai tea. With added free-flow options, and extra points for gluten-free, diary-free, vegan and vegetarian options, it's a fun and filling way to get a taste of Holi beyond the traditional occasion.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12 to 3pm, Chaiwala, Basement, No. 43-55, Wyndham Street, Central
Brunch Buffets at Porterhouse
Eat all you deliriously can with Porterhouse's brunch buffet, which lets you gorge on unlimited treats from the buffet station, carving station, and the seafood bar (unlimited oysters, anyone?). Free-flow bubbly options abound for an additional charge, as do mouthwatering add-ons including pancakes, French toast or a lobster roll, as well as the signature Porterhouse prime beef burger and lobster linguine.
Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am to 3:30pm, Porterhouse, 7/F California Tower, 30-36 D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong

Luxe dining destination and party central Zuma at the Landmark is worth making the trip back to the city's CBD for brunch, much thanks to their Baikingu menu. Diners get a two-hour free-flow of Champagnes – pick from "R" de Ruinart, Ruinart blanc de blancs and Krug Grande Cuvée – on top of a counter serving up salads, hot and cold starters, tempura, meats and of course, a selection of sashimi, nigiri and maki. There's also one main course per person, with options that include Teriyaki salmon fillet, ribeye steak, and chilli-marinated chicken thigh with barley miso. Wine, sake and beer options are available as well, concluded by a dessert platter of fresh fruits and ice cream for the table.
