Encompassing a modular furniture system, a wardrobe, a bed and a table, Danish design brand Garde Hvalsøe’s new product series strikes the right balance between function and aesthetic. There are plenty of details to admire that make design extra inspiring so here’s what we love about the new launch.
1. Pilaster Modular Furniture System
A modular furniture system with finger-jointed drawers and vertical columns, the Pilaster has a light, transparent expression that’s highly adaptable, with elegant solid wood tenons keeping the cabinet in place in between the pilasters. Whether it's the bathroom, living room or kitchen, it lends a beautiful touch to the interiors. It’s available as either free-standing or wall-mounted units.
2. GH Glass Wardrobe
Celebrating the art of balancing contrasts, the GH Glass is a playful composition of glass and wood, where classic wooden cabinets float between vertical end-walls in glass. The cabinet is held in place by visible glass bolts, the transparent glass and solid wood underscoring the handcrafted details. Available as an open or closed cabinet, it’s an elegant addition to any walk-in closet.
3. Merge Table
The Merge table is Copenhagen-based Bunn Studio’s first design for Garde Hvalsøe. Based off an ellipse shape that extends invitingly over the worktop, the table’s organic silhouette is cosy enough for an informal meal or a quick coffee break. The leg frame is designed with an offset centre making it possible to place the table against the kitchen cabinet that supports the table.
4. Flag Halyard Bed
Created on a penchant for wood and natural materials, Flag Halyard Bed is yet another brainchild of Bunn Studio. With an elegant bed frame, the hand-crafted details are naturally highlighted in a minimalist expression. The bed is in line with the Danish furniture tradition of airy, transparent design, featuring visible flag halyard elements in both the headboard and the front, with a mattress incorporated into the bed design.
