Leading kitchen and bathroom brand KOHLER assembles 13 artists from Asia-Pacific and the Middle East to present the KOHLER Bold. Art. Exhibition 2017 at Elements. The exhibition explores the theme of multiculturalism, with each artist responding to the concept from their own individual and geographical context.
Representing Hong Kong is young artist Yui Chun Wah, whose piece in the exhibition is entitled Straight Hook Straight. Inspired by his experience learning Muay Thai, where, despite the fact that he and his teacher do not speak the same language, they are able to find alternative ways to communicate through touch and gesture and thus break down barriers, the piece is made from discarded clay and local earth, symbolising Hong Kong’s status of a proudly multicultural city that brings people from diverse cultures together. I think multiculturalism is something to be celebrated and I’m very proud to have been chosen to be a part of KOHLER Bold. Art. and display my work with talented artists from across the region,” says Yui.
In addition to the 13 artworks on display, there will also be an interactive 3DTrick Eye Photography Zone for families and children to enjoy.
