Christmas is just around the corner – leading up to the holidays, Home Journal‘s editorial team reveals what we’d like for Christmas. Here’s what features and online editor Leanne Mirandilla hopes to see in their Christmas stocking this year.
I love the satchel both for versatility and classic shape; leather goods company The Cambridge Satchel Company’s take on the bag has been updated with a range of new and exciting hues, such asthe 15″ Batchel in dusk blue. Perfect for toting around everything but the kitchen sink – that is, the every day essentials.
My day hasn’t officially started until I’ve had a good cup of coffee to wake myself up. An excellent upgrade to my awkward, humble little one-cup filter coffee cone would be Yield Design’s ceramic French press. Compared your typical glass-and-steel French press, it has minimalist and elegant look.
As a casual art lover, especially of illustrative arts, I’m constantly coveting prints and posters to decorate my home and office desk space with. This print of American artist Audrey Kawasaki‘s piece Where I Rest has most recently caught my eye; I’ve long since been a fan of her art-noveau-meets-Japanese-manga-style.
Cleverly placed candles can work wonders when it comes to creating moody lighting, not to mention filling a space with delicious scents. These iridescendent jar candles by Capri Blue, available at Anthropologie, have the added bonus of being beautiful to look at, too. They’re available in a number of different scents and sizes.
This ingenious pet carrier-slash-backpack by U-Pet, which makes your cat or dog look like a little astronaut, made the rounds on social media earlier this month. I think my own curious cat would appreciate the chance to explore the outside world from behind the safety of the bag’s glass bubble!
Nobody wants to deal with the pain of countless cables, but my laptop speakers are just not up to snuff anymore. Enter the UE Boom 2, a small yet powerful Bluetooth speaker that’s earned rave reviews and – most importantly – can fit in your back pocket.
Everyone has that one friend with the green thumb who can, seemingly magically, make any houseplant flourish under their care. Unfortunately, that friend is not me. I aspire towards having a garden of potted plants on my balcony, but these mini-planters from Etsy seller Redwood Stoneworks are probably all I can handle for the moment. I’m a fan of their mix-and-match geometric shapes, too.
