From delightful stationery to sumptuous feasts and sleek gadgets, there isn’t a lack of options to demonstrate your affection this holiday season.
As lifestyle editor at Home Journal, I am privileged to be surrounded by beautiful and inspiring design day-to-day – which also makes it challenging to handpick just a few favourites from my never-ending list.

As an avid tea lover with zero resistance for the drink, the delectable Christmas Afternoon Tea served at The Murray’s Garden Lounge throughout December will have to top my list. After all, who can say no to a dessert trolley filled with Christmas treats under such tastefully-designed surrounds?
I may not be the most tech-savvy person in the world, but an enticing aesthetic packed with exceptional audio performance is sure to win me over. With an earthy aluminium bronze tone, bespoke wool yarn from Kvadrat and premium walnut wood, I’ll take anything from Bang & Olufsen’s Bronze Collection – the iconic Beoplay A9 floor speaker, Beoplay M5, the Beosound 1 and 2, or even the stunning, brand-new Beosound Edge speaker.
Known for my infamous black thumb, I have long lost the courage to buy myself any greenery – though I do enjoy beautiful plant and floral arrangements from time to time. Thanks to Cole & Son’s Botanical Collection – available from Altfield Interiors in Hong Kong – I am given an alternative to recreating a thriving nature scene without having to worry about actual gardening. I can’t wait to liven up my study with Bluebell’s Hyacinthoides Non-scripta for an exuberant world of fern and flora…
A rewarding journey is not complete without sumptuous accommodation, great views, palatable gourmet, and of course, a functional travel luggage that accompanies you all the way. I particularly like the understated aesthetic, remarkable durability and smooth roll of TUMI’s 19 Degree Gunmetal.
A new year always comes with a new planner, according to stationery lovers out there – and as one of them, I am more than happy to gift myself the vibrant Juliet Rose from Rifle Paper Co that comes with classic covered spiral binding. The beautifully illustrated agenda features monthly and weekly views, inspirational quotes, a ruled pocket, and sticker sheets – I certainly can’t ask for a more perfect organiser!
These Whisper Petite Boxes from Sé are definitely essential when it comes to my New Year clutter-clearing plan. While I hate to let go of any accessories and small decorative items, I can now store them away in style with these striking yet compact containers. Available in a choice of ceramic colours - including Vintage Green, Tea Pink, Lilac Grey - and metal glazes, now I am in trouble again struggling to pick which one(s) to get...
Last but not least, there has to be something special for my beloved dachshund Schön (and myself), as she is celebrating her 5th birthday during the holidays! Ok – I’ll admit it’s not entirely for her, but who can resist this adorable sausage dog quilt cover from Castle? Not to mention its 5-star hotel bed comfort with a combination of 100% cotton, 280-thread count cotton quilt cover, and white cotton coverlet buttons.
