With her signature playful and elegant aesthetic, acclaimed designer Patricia Urquiola has led the redesign of a luxurious four-bedroom residence in the Maldives.
It’s the first of the Spanish designer’s work on the island, in the ultra-exclusive resort destination Velaa Private Island. Envisioned from scratch by Urquiola, the residence features sophisticated pinks and ocean-inspired blues vis-a-vis earthy neutrals, in layers and textures reminiscent of the surrounding nature.
The interiors comprise some of her popular pieces, including the M.a.s.s.a.s Sofa and Klara Chair for Moroso, as well as her Garden Layers cushions for Gan Rugs in the patio, around the outdoor fire pit.
Furnishings also include custom-made pieces in the living room, plus the Fat sofa and Crinoline Armchair from B&B Italia, mesh deckchairs and the Basket Chair from Kettal, carpets from Tai Ping in the master bedroom, a Mathilda chair from Moroso, the Atay Sofa from Coedition, a table from Mabeo and lighting by Contardi.
