For centuries travellers have embarked on the breathtaking natural environments of Graubunden in Switzerland. It’s where you can experience the interplay of pristine wilderness and top-notch, modern tourism infrastructure.
Things To Do
1. Visit the Swiss National Park
Home to thousands of animal and plant species, the Swiss National Park hosts guided excursions, nature trails, activities for children and exhibitions on Switzerland's wildlife. The park boasts an 80-kilometer network of walking trails and, for the brave, a peak of 3,174 meters to the summit. Expect to see ibexes, chamois, marmots, bearded vultures and golden eagles, not to mention countless other Switzerland wildlife.
2. Walk Along the Chur Panoramic Trail
The sun-kissed panoramic trail starts in the city center and takes you in a circuit out of the city and into the beautiful forest of Chur. Along the edge of the forest you continue to the most beautiful viewpoint of the city (don't forget to bring your camera). Passing by the episcopal courtyard and the famous cathedral the tour finally leads into the historic old town of Chur and back to the starting point.
3. Partake in the 12th National Hiking Day
The experience begins at the valley station in Bad Ragaz, where small goat stables point to the Heidipfad. With the 8-seater gondola lift from Bad Ragaz, it then goes to the starting point at the mountain station Pardiel. A special experience for children is the ascent with one of the Heidi gondolas. Arriving at Pardiel, a playground is already waiting for the little guests and a wonderful view for the grown-ups.
