A trusted supplier, JEB Group's services have evolved from simply supplying products to providing complete solutions, including design. In this way, it was the perfect choice for Harrow International School when it needed help with a classroom redesign. Turning their breakout area into a versatile space that serves both collaborative and focused needs. Sam Beere, the Chief Operations Officer of JEB Group, worked closely with the school to design a space that would provide a customised learning experience for the students.
This learning space is divided into two zones: one for collaborations and the other for more focused, quiet study. The collaborative zone is an ideal space for students to work together on group projects. With a relaxed and comfortable environment, it encourages students to engage in discussions and share ideas, leading to a more interactive learning experience. Meanwhile, the study/focused/quiet zone provides a calm and peaceful environment that help students to stay focused and eliminate unwanted noise and distractions.
JEB provides an extensive furnishing supply chain that offers a wide range of products for various solutions. In creating a dynamic learning environment, LEXTA furniture was chosen to facilitate both collaborative and independent learning modes. The furniture can be easily moved by teachers and students to create different room configuration that cater various learning styles. It also allows for a variety of activities to be carried out in the same space, making it a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
By using a combination of different types of furniture, the learning space was able to provide a variety of seating options that are tailored to the needs of students.
To foster group discussions and student engagement, LEXTA's Boon, Curved and Wally sofa sets were used along with Pods and Work Booths. The chosen products help create an intimate and secluded environment that encourages students to speak freely and engage in discussions while maintaining a high level of privacy.
The Humanscale chairs offer long-term support and comfort, while the Zone Bean Bags provide a softer, more relaxed atmosphere. The wide range of furniture creates a modern, open ambience that offers both safety and tranquillity.
Moreover, JEB's designers took the school's needs and students' needs into account at every stage, from choosing soft, durable blue and green fabrics to picking out ergonomic furniture.
As part of the project completion and in line with the school's hygiene policy, Safe + Sound Solutions installed a total of seven Sanitising Dispensers throughout the school, especially in lab classes where flammable alcoholic products aren't allowed. Safe + Sound uses alcohol-free sanitisers that are non-flammable and safe. It replaces alcohol with biodegradable lactic acid, which provides the same protection against viruses without exposing you to harmful chemicals. Manufactured according to WHO standards, the hand sanitiser is formulated with Vitamin E and organic Aloe Vera to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and soothe dry skin.
From the initial design to the final installation of furniture, it took almost nine months to complete the project. The outcome is a stunning common room that is now modern, flexible and collaborative.
